Seeking God

“For the Lord will not cast off forever. Though He causes grief, yet He will show compassion according to the multitude of His mercies. For He does not afflict willingly, nor grieve the children of men.”

Lamentations 3:31-33

God doesn not take pleasure in punishing people. One of the main reasons society and families are breaking down is because we have allowed man’s law to punish us for discipling our children, and we oursleves have lost all perspective and conviction. We feel no guilt for our actions and live by a “to each their own” philosophy!

It is of the Lord’s mercies that some men are not consumed. Being humbled and seeing himself and his sinfulness in a proper point of view, he finds that God, instead of dealing with him in judgment has dealt with him in mercy and that though the affliction was excessive, it was less than his iniquity deserved.

If any sinner is kept out of hell, it is because God’s compassion does not fail.

But though He cause grief, as The Lord sometimes does in His own people by convincing them of sin and producing in them godly sorrow, which produces repentance. If more of us today would allow ourselves to be more sensitive to God’s influence instead of that of man and the world our churches would be less like social clubs and more like houses of prayer as they ought be!

Yet will He have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies. His mercies are many, both temporal and spiritual. We lack the discernment to see beyond whats in fron of our faces. We see dollar signs and toys and entertainment and forget that God is seeking our attention! we are distracted by the things of the world and then turn and cry to God when our choices and actions have consequences!

For He doth not afflict willingly” It is no pleasure to God to afflict men. He takes no delight in our pain and misery yet like a tender and loving parent, He uses the rod; not to gratify Himself, but to profit and save us.

Some kids today ask this silly question. “How does punishment and discipline teach us anything?” This is what we have come to. Children, teenagers just want everythign handed to them and not have to do any thing for it! Too many adults are very much like this now as well …

Too much entitlement and worrying over financial stress in an attempt to keep your kids happy and not enough seeking God and teaching them His ways!

Micah 7

“Who is a God like You, pardoning iniquity and passing over the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He does not retain His anger forever, because He delights in mercy. He will again have compassion on us, and will subdue our iniquities. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.”

Micah 7:18-19

This portion of the chapter was a preayer of supplication …

Who is a God? as meaning, A Mighty God like unto Thee? Inquiring that there are no others …

He saith not, “Who hast made heaven and earth, the sea and all that therein is” Exodus 20:11

“Who telleth the number of the stars; and calleth them all by their names.” Psalm 147:4

“Who by His strength setteth fast the mountains and is girded about with power.” Psalm 65:6

But rather who forgives! For greater is the work of Redemption than the work of Creation.

“That pardons, and bears and taketh away also, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of His heritage, that is, His heritage which is a remnant still when “the rest are blinded” Romans 11:7 …

And this, not of its merits but of His mercy. Since it is not His nature to “retain His anger forever.” Not for anything in them but “because He delights in mercy”.

“I am merciful, saith the Lord, and I will not keep anger forever.” Jeremiah 3:12.

“I am He that blotteth out thy transgressions for Mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.” Isaiah 43:25

We are our own worst critics ..

Financial Perspective

God didn’t tell you go to buy that expensive car!

99% of the time when God asks us to do something its usually to help others, not a self serving act. God Himself will handle the rewards …

Sometimes the reward turns out to be financial, and what do you do with it? What is your motive? Its fine to do things for yourselves, but if you are not contributed to God’s purpose, or helping those you see in need, you are not dong God’;s work, you are doing YOUR work!

I always desire to have more money and influence to be able to help others, and it gets frustrating when I am unable to make a difference that can be so simply solved.

I’ve lived thru the ” We can’t help you, but we’ll pray for you” farce. Most of those people have no real relationship with God, and so many times their prayers have no substance.

I know which people in my life can’t help with things like money or other things, but their prayers are genuine and have made a difference in my life.

We lack discernment. We make illogical life choices that are not directed to us by God, but from the devil. The lure of a “better life” many times brings families to ruin. Some may seem happy or content, but their walk with God is gone and the devil has them right where he wants them. Too much looking at things from a financial perspective …

For most people, truly following God is not a bed of roses. Its not rainbows and unicorns and celebrations and parties. The prophets and apostles in the Bible were mistreated and even murdered by the general population of society. What makes you think your life should be any better?

I hear these popular well known speakers stating the same things I just said and their life is generally pretty good. Why? Because they are not in the truth. They deny many portions of God’s word. They observe the lies of pagan traditions, they support tyrannical military agenda, they pledge their allegiance to a dictatorship’s flag. They spend time in prayer but do not possess the Holy Ghost. They hear voices alright, and if God is calling to them they are ignoring Him for fear of losing their position in life …

I learned the very, very hard way that if you are a true seeker of truth, and attempt to share that truth, you are going to be persecuted and condemned whether you’re willing to or not …

Waiting on God for clarity and certainty … instead of rushing into something because you feel pushed or urged … God has a plan that is many times disrupted or put on the shelf by our own actions and choices because we do not allow ourselves to use discernment. We allow the world’s view of what our life should be to distract, disarm and dismantle us piece by piece to keep us from God’s will and blessing …

This is a harder thing still to deal with when you know God’s plan includes other people and those people have backslid, fallen away and forgotten …

I told God the other night, and have said so before that I am not in this just to save myself. I do not want to leave anymore souls behind. I have left to many behind already. Some men need the support of loved ones or other like minded people to have a successful ministry, even if its small …

I’d like to believe that if people who knew me in the past, family, friends, those who betrayed me … if any of them were to see me up and coming as a minister that maybe they might realize there is something to the truth I try to spread.

The Next Big Thing

What in a persons mind makes them believe that donating money to a ministry does anything for their souls? I mean just what do they think they are paying for?

I am not talking about helping an individual in genuine need here. I am referring to the career preachers who get wealthy off gullible listeners.

I need money, but I don’t do this for the money. So I wouldn’t even know how to present a case or reasoning for getting people to give me money. They are not going to be blessed just because they hand me 5 dollars.

I would love to get some attention on my videos and for someone to basically discover me and invite my teaching into their fold. God doesn’t need to use money to make that happen. There must be other poor ministers in the truth who have a small following and look at Youtube sometimes.

I have no following off the social networks and blogs. And half the people who ever see my posts on here just want to argue. If anything I have ever shared online has ever helped anyone who wasn’t already in the truth, I don’t know about it. So its difficult for me to see what good it does …

I’m not saying that if I had people sitting under me in front of my pulpit that I would necessarily know what their lives consist of. I’ve never been given the position of counseling people before. I only know that I would not try to shove my way into someone’s personal business until they asked for me to be involved, and then I have to live with whatever choices they make after advising them … else I risk chasing them away for good.

I hurt for people’s souls. I get angry when I see the hypocrisy that blinds them because there is nothing I can do or say without causing an argument or worse. And then I feel like a hypocrite myself because I do not know how to act in a situation where I have to bite my tongue …

I catch myself rolling my eyes and murmuring under my breath about it. That only encourages a bad spirit to keep on …

So lately I wonder and question what it is that I am supposed to be praying for? Or what is it that i am supposed to be accomplishing? One struggle I am having is keeping prayer and meditation. The number one weapon of a minister is prayer and so many lose sight of this.

I haven’t lost sight of it, but I do struggle to maintain it. So many disruptions. So many disturbing spirits. So many easy distractions. I’m supposed to be a leader, but no one is listening …

I don’t mean they aren’t listening to me. I mean they are not listening to God! I’m just that previously mentioned mule pulled wagon everyone ignores while they keep their eyes looking out for the next big thing …

Mule Pulled Wagon …

“A man was on the roof of a house, during a flood.A boat came by and the man in the boat said to him,”Get in the boat and I,’ll get you out of here! “No,the man replied,”I’m waiting on the Lord to deliver me!” The boat left.A little while later a helicopter landed on the roof and the pilot said to him,”Get in the helicopter and I,’ll get you out of here!” “No,the man replied,”I,m waiting on the Lord to deliver me!” The helicopter left.Later a water plane landed as the water was up to the man,s neck. The pilot said to him,”Get in the plane and I,’ll get you out of here!” “No,the man replied,”I,m waiting on the Lord to deliver me!” The plane left and the man drowned. He got up to heaven and said to the Lord “Lord, why didn’t you deliver me?” You dummy, I sent you a boat a plane and a helicopter, what more do you want?”

This old joke is actually a very serious metaphor. Because people expect some great miracle or some great flashy superhero show and just ignore the simple solutions that God presents them with. People want what they read about Jesus doing in the Bible. Many people prayer for things and when God gives it to them, they act as if the worst thing that could ever happen to them. And so when they don’t get their fairy tale miracle, they in turn make poor choices that lead them away from God’s plan … and that leaves others in the dust many times.

When you spend all your time hoping for a chariot of fire to rescue you, you miss the mule pulled wagon going passed …

If My People …

Does anyone ever deal with people they care about listening to christian music and singing along with it .. knowing that the person has fallen so far away from God, but you can’t say anything without creating a major incident? Do you catch yourself murmuring to God about it under your breath, even feeling bitter?

I deal with this a lot and it tears me up inside. We do more to feed the beast with that kind of response. This morning I caught myself and asked forgiveness. I think that when we gripe and murmur, that it contradicts our prayers and can even confuse a situation more.

If there is any kind of battle going on for the souls of these people we give the demons more strength with our attitudes, then we go pray and give the angels more strength … many times I wonder if battles go back and forth because of how people carry themselves so inconsistently in the spirit.

The battle over Daniel fasting seems unique in this regard. I’m sure there were moments when Daniel felt weak and even felt like giving up, but he remained consistent until he almost starved to death.

I once heard of a man who lived with the old native tribes who go out and pray every day knelt down in the snow all day until it melted around him from the sweat and body heat coming off of him. I know a story of another man who had what they call camel knees from praying so fervently on a hardwood floor by his bed, and he had a worn area in the floor from pacing in prayer …

In an old apartment I lived in for years I also wore down an area of carpet from pacing in prayer and praise for long periods of time, but for me even an hour or 2 in prayer will burn me out.

We seem to lack the fortitude and endurance to keep up like the men of that caliber, but most of us barely spend a few minutes a week in prayer anymore. And we wonder why things don’t change or improve around us. or if you are content with the way things are, then you are still doing something wrong …

“A man is no greater than his prayer life” is a statement that has been on my heart for days recently. Tho, I remember I use to be so addicted to prayer. I couldn’t get enough of going to church before I learned all that I know now about the paganism and the entertainment and the money.

A preacher once said something like, even if the church is dead or run by lies, just sit thru it and pray in the back in your pew, even under your breath until something happens … its a fairly tempting thought honestly. I liked to call myself an Agent Of God for this very kind of reason. I mean wolves are always out disguised as sheep, but Jesus said we will be sheep disguised as wolves. And I think we may have to be at times in order to make some difference.

Everyone always asks where is God? Well He wants to know where are His people … ?
